Yesterday evening, Philippines media released news about the deployment by the two monopoly multinationally-owned telecom networks in RP of the illegally obtained 700 Megahertz radio frequency spectrum.
During the broadcast, it was bruited about that in the experience of Smart communications, the speed of internet increased from 2 Megabits to 224 Megabits per second.
This means that the Smart infrastructure is not yet ready for the 700 Mhz spectrum. The high speed level of this spectrum is in the gigabits – therefore the bragged about 224 Mb is just shit.
Furthermore, the reporter, on whose orders we don’t know, attributed to the International Telecommunications Union heaping praises intended for Smart and Globe – very subtly – by supposedly giving hallelujahs to the 700 Mhz. Which spectrum was formerly illegally being kept like a closet mistress by Raymond Moreno under Liberty Telecom Inc. (LTI), sold to Atty. Miguel Arroyo thereby changing the name of LTI to Liberty Telecom Holdings, Inc. (LTHI), purportedly dumped into San Miguel Corporation and in just a short period, without this frequency spectrum being used productively at all or shared with all the other qualified and competent service providers in the Philippines, sold lock, stock and barrel to Smart Communications and Globe Telecom.
Furthermore, Smart and Globe have been stealing vital proprietary information from those knowledgeable about the spectrum using their mendicant contacts out for a small buck.
At the end of the day, Globe and Smart will rue the day they supposedly “bought” the 700 Mhz and keep using the name of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) the veritable god in the global telecom sector, in vain.
And the media will get their own karma for spreading this dirty tsismis that the International Telecommunications Union supports the dastardly monopolistic ownership by only two (2) giant transnationally owned telecom companies (they’re not even Filipino companies) of the best ever kind of radio frequency now known in the whole world. This just gets to show that the Philippine media is not an ally of the Filipino masses of people. It keeps disinforming the population, keeps deluding the citizenry of what is supposedly good for them when what it is dishing out is poison and in the same breath using the name of God in vain just for dirty money now and, or in the near future.
